One of our ancestors, Benoit Bailly, was one of the first to use the new Briare canal, from the Loire to the Seine, opened in 1642, to deliver his wine to Paris. In 1932, Dominique’s great-grandfather, Benoit Piron, bought the vineyard at “Aux Pierres” on the south-eastern slope of the Côte du Py. Benoit had the choice of enlarging his vineyard between a 4 ha 60 property in Morgon for 90,000 francs at the time, and a 6 ha 50 property in Moret-Saint-Denis in Burgundy, called Le Clos de Tart, for 110,000 francs. This famous property was bought the same year by a wine merchant from Mâcon.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” z_index=”406″ custom_margin=”-372px||122px||false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”-372px||122px||false|false” custom_margin_phone=”-369px||106px||false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://closvieuxbourg.fr/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/SLIDER-automne-1.jpg” title_text=”Clos Vieux Bourg” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”||-143px||false|false” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” alt=”Clos Vieux Bourg” sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” z_index=”255″ overflow-x=”hidden” custom_margin_tablet=”” custom_margin_phone=”-8px||||false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”36px||31px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row admin_label=”MORGON” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” z_index=”187″ custom_margin=”|auto|-7px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”|auto|-208px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_phone=”-32px|auto|-208px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|desktop” custom_padding=”||5px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Trump|||on|||||” text_text_color=”#2c3131″ text_font_size=”49px” text_letter_spacing=”5px” header_font_size=”67px” header_letter_spacing=”10px” header_2_text_color=”#2c3131″ header_2_font_size=”67px” header_2_letter_spacing=”10px” module_alignment=”right” global_colors_info=”{}”]

A historic site

Le Vieux Bourg

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]

The Domaine du Vieux Bourg, just a stone’s throw from Morgon, is becoming a must-see in the Beaujolais region. These are wines for moments of sharing and friendship.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#373d3d” background_image=”https://closvieuxbourg.fr/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/fond-environnement.png” background_position=”bottom_center” background_vertical_offset=”100%” z_index=”255″ custom_margin=”||-3px||false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”” custom_margin_phone=”-8px||||false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”83px||98px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”2″ make_equal=”on” admin_label=”REGNIE” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” z_index=”187″ custom_margin=”-8px|auto|-77px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”|auto|-208px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_phone=”-32px|auto|-208px|auto|false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|desktop” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_2_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_2_font_size=”49px” header_2_letter_spacing=”5px” max_width_tablet=”300px” max_width_phone=”100%” max_width_last_edited=”on|phone” module_alignment=”right” custom_margin=”0px||||false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”-57px||||false|false” custom_margin_phone=”0px||||false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|phone” custom_padding=”0px|||||” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Respect for the environment

Since 2020, our vineyards have been certified HVE – High Environmental Value. Benoit had the choice of enlarging his vineyard between a 4 ha 60 property in Morgon for 90,000 francs at the time, and a 6 ha 50 property in Moret-Saint-Denis in Burgundy, called Le Clos de Tart, for 110,000 francs.
