Geographic location

The Beaujolais vineyard (15,000 ha in plantation) is limited:

  • To the north, by the vineyards of Maconnais
  • To the west, by the Beaujolais mountains
  • To the south, by the mounts of Lyonnais and Azergues
  • To the east, par the Saône river

The territory has a length of 55 km from south to north and 12 to 15 km from east to west.The average altitude is about 300 m.

The vineyard of Vieux Bourg (35 ha) is concentrated on the villages of:

  • Villié-Morgon (Gamay)
  • Chénas (Gamay)
  • Régnié-Durette (Gamay)
  • Corcelles-en-Beaujolais et Lancié (Gamay & Chardonnay)
